Email best practice

Making E-M-A-I-L work for you

Email is a valuable and integral part of how we work and operate. Yet it is all too easy to become over-involved in dealing with our inbox at the expense of other important business issues. The E-M-A-I-L initiative aims to help everyone use email more effectively and reduce the overall volume of email in circulation. This will allow all of us to:

Save time dealing with our inboxes

Reduce the stress associated with too much email

Improve the way we communicate using email

Increase the time we have available for what really matters in work and life

Improve the way we manage and share information.

Making E-M-A-I-L Work For You is a set of tools that will help us become more proficient in the use of email.
Outlook to help you become more skilled in the use of email.

E-M-A-I-L

Below are five principles each of the principles are linked to a set of best practice behaviours which support them. These have been drawn from many different sources , from external analysts and from other businesses which are recognised as exemplars of best practice.
